What You’ll Learn

Before being led on your foraging walk, Elaine will share her over 30 years of wildcrafting experience while reviewing the following topics:

  • Learn about the ethics of wildcrafting, how we impact our environment, and how we can show respect and reciprocity to the environment around us.

  • Learn about the recommended tools for the best foraging experience.

  • Learn best practices for harvesting different plants, with a step-by-step explanation of ethical harvesting techniques.

  • Elane will take us on an herb walk looking at edible, weedy, native, and medicinal plants. She will explain the parts of the plant used, how to use them, their nutritive and medicinal properties, and when to best harvest them.

Please note that this is an educational class and we will not be harvesting during class time.

ELAINE SHEFF, CO-DIRECTOR, CLINICAL HERBALIST, RH (AHG)

Elaine is the Co-Director of Green Path Herb School, located in Missoula, Montana, where she strives to inspire and empower students and clients to remember their connection to the earth, the plants, and their healing process. She is a professional member of the American Herbalist Guild and teaches workshops at national and international conferences. As a certified Instructor of Natural Family Planning and Fertility Awareness Methods, Elaine has helped many couples avoid or achieve pregnancy naturally.

  • Once you register for the class, you will get a detailed email explaining where to meet for the program.

  • We recommend bringing sturdy closed-toe shoes, a sun hat, water, a sack lunch, sunscreen, a portable chair, a notebook, and a pen.

  • There are many wonderful places to stay in Missoula! Here is a list of just some of the possible lodging (and camping) around the area. You can also find many other options online.

    • $50 deposit (out of the total tuition) is non-refundable upon paying for the program.

    • All credit card fees are non-refundable.

    • A full refund of tuition (less the $50.00 deposit and all credit card fees) will be paid if the student withdraws in writing up until the day before the class.

    • No refunds are given the day of the class or any time after that date.
